Songs With a Single-Letter Title
We’ve covered lowercase titles, exclamation points, no-vowel titles, and parentheses. Today: the shortest possible song title. A single character.

One Letter, One Song
The single-letter title is a rare and committed choice. A statement of confidence. A refusal to explain yourself. A few of the best:
- “i” by Kendrick Lamar: The lowercase-i lead single from To Pimp a Butterfly. A whole gospel-of-self-love sermon wrapped inside a single vowel.
- “X” by Chris Brown: The title track of his 2014 album. A one-letter title for a record that went platinum.
- “O” by Coldplay: A 2014 track about trying to get to a place where you are happy for the people around you.
