A Playlist for Your Sub-Minute Moments

Songs under a minute live in their own strange little universe. Some are hidden album outros. Some are interludes that became cult favorites. Some are fully-formed ideas that just happen to be extremely efficient with your time. A few to get us started:

1. “Her Majesty” by The Beatles: The hidden outro on Abbey Road, clocking in at just 23 seconds. Paul McCartney serenades the Queen and it’s over before you’ve finished exhaling.
2. “You Suffer” by Napalm Death: 1.316 seconds long — the shortest song ever commercially released. It holds a Guinness World Record and asks exactly one question: you suffer, but why?
3. Album skits and interludes: The sub-minute space is where hip-hop albums do their most interesting world-building. Kanye, Kendrick, Beyoncé, OutKast — short connective tissue that became its own tradition.
